Shekinah Community Centre

is a city church of many congregations, proclaiming God's love in the heart of the city, through the Home Cell Strategy. The city church concept is the idea that each city has one church. Though this church with many congregations (satellite churches), a central leadership team gives direction to the entire network. Shekinah Community Centre, a 8 year-old congregation has seen growth during recent years. The first 3 years the church was averaging approximately 180 people on a Sunday morning. Today, the attendance is averaging around 350 on a weekend.

One of the unique features of the church, apart from its growth, is the use of the “satellite” model. There are currently eight, geographically separated congregations all operating as one church with one Senior Pastor, one Board of Elders, a shared staff, and a common budget. Undoubtedly, the model is partially responsible for the church’s growth. The diversity and smaller size of each congregation enables the church to reach the unique neighborhoods in the area by maintaining a feeling of family and togetherness that a single church could never provide.
